Cyclists in copper evening light
Three cyclists roll toward the camera on the Vrieseweg in Dordrecht, their figures lit copper by a low June sun cutting through the canopy of mature plane trees. The 2:1 crop distills the image to its essential tension: the cathedral of light and leaf, the human scale of the riders, and the amber cobblestone corridor receding to the far end of the street. Shot in June 2023 with the Nikon D850 in Dordrecht; the frame won the City of Dordrecht's weekly Facebook photo contest by a landslide.
