Two butterflies sharing the lantana
Two butterfly species share a Lantana flower cluster in a tropical greenhouse in Amsterdam — a Julia butterfly (Dryas iulia) in warm amber-orange in the foreground with wings held level, and a Zebra Longwing (Heliconius charithonia) half-visible at the right edge, its black-and-white stripes unmistakeable. The 2:1 panoramic crop underscores the horizontal spread of the butterflies wingspans. Shot in May 2026 with the Nikon Z 9 and MC 105mm.
