Split at first light

From the fortified heights above Klis, the full breadth of Split spreads below in warm September 2024 light — the ancient Roman grid of Diocletian's city, the port, and the Adriatic coast stretching toward the islands. Rocky Kozjak mountain anchors the right horizon while a motorway curves through the valley below. Shot at 7:37am as morning clouds broke near Stella Croatica viewpoint with the Nikon Z 9 and 24mm lens.
