A single cornflower (Centaurea cyanus) in vivid electric blue fills the frame, its fringed ray florets radiating from a tight dark centre. A secondary bud hangs in soft purple-brown bokeh at the left; the background transitions from warm pink to deep blue-green. Shot in May 2026 with the Nikon Z 9 and MC 105mm macro, this is one of Europe's most familiar wildflowers — once a grain-field weed, now a consciously planted symbol of summer meadows.
