Clusters of Thalictrum (meadow rue) flowers rise against a bright rock-wall background, each blossom a pom-pom of white stamens tipped in yellow-green with deep maroon-purple sepals at the base. A small dark beetle clings to one of the uppermost clusters. Shot in June 2021 in the Netherlands with the Nikon D850 and 105mm macro, the pale background allows the delicate structure of these underappreciated wildflowers to read with complete clarity.
