Fine Art Print
A barrel cactus mandala of spines
Shot from directly above, a barrel cactus (Ferocactus sp.) resolves into a mandala of red-maroon spines radiating from cream areoles, their sharp tips pointing outward like compass needles, the green body of the plant visible between each armoured cluster. Shot in a climate-controlled greenhouse in Amsterdam in May 2026 with the Nikon Z 9 and MC 105mm, this top-down perspective reveals a geometry more architectural than botanical.
