A teasel seedhead backlit by low sun
A dried teasel (Dipsacus fullonum) seedhead catches backlight from a low August sun, its spiny oval form ringed in warm gold while the recurved bracts radiate outward. The out-of-focus background fades to soft pastel pink and grey. Shot on 5 August 2020 along the Weesperzijde in Oost Amsterdam with the Nikon D850 and 105mm macro, the native teasel here becomes a backlit architectural study rather than a roadside weed.
