Rowboats moored on Black Lake
Two weathered wooden rowboats rest chained to a simple plank dock on the still surface of Black Lake (Crno jezero) in Montenegro's Durmitor National Park. Shot in black and white, the image captures the boats' rough textures against the mirror-calm water, framed by dense conifer forests and the dramatic rocky silhouettes of Durmitor's peaks under a clouded sky. Black Lake is one of Montenegro's most photographed subjects, a glacial lake at 1,416 metres elevation surrounded by ancient pine forests.
